School run (or walk or cycle) update 2

Week 9

Our gallant team of walkers, riders and runners are starting week nine of this challenge to “virtually” travel 10,000 kms from Bristol to Kenya in ten weeks. One of our team recently ran the Yeovil Half Marathon and others clocked up miles in the gym, whilst on holiday in Barbados.

The weather is now being kinder to us as the season changes into spring with the delights of snowdrops and primroses and birdsong to cheer us on as we clock up the miles. As with any journey, this one has not been without its own challenges. Sickness has been a frustration; footsore and saddle-sore have also featured, but the team keeps moving.
We have “virtually” reached Chad and covered 7,140 kms with another 3,096 still to go. This is a tough challenge both physically and mentally, but the impact of our efforts will change the lives of children. We cannot put a value on what we are trying to achieve

In Kenya meanwhile, the children who will benefit from this challenge are eagerly waiting to start Form 1 at their new secondary school. Most have spent their young lives thinking that, as orphans, there would never be anyone who cared enough to help them build a future. Now they are being measured for new uniforms and their impossible dreams are becoming a reality.
You can be a part of something amazing by donating to our fundraising challenge and helping us to change the future, for just a few.

PLEASE DONATE AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE
