Why We Are Fundraising
After four years without a major fundraiser, we are pleased to launch our second fundraising campaign of 2026.
The reason is simple: we want to continue supporting 46 children through education, from primary school through to vocational or technical college.
- Our support is a long-term commitment to each child’s future.
- It gives them the opportunity to learn a trade or technical skill.
- With those skills, they can work towards earning a living and building a more secure future.
Growing Into Opportunity
We have supported these children since they were very young, and it is a joy to see some of the older ones now studying at college, each with hopes and aspirations for the future.
They are deeply grateful to God for the opportunities they have been given, and they are certainly not wasting them.
In September, two students will begin three-month work experience placements with major Kenyan companies. For these young men, whom we remember as boisterous little boys, the goal is now in sight.
Sharing Their Stories
During this second fundraising campaign, we will focus on a small number of individual children and young people, sharing their stories throughout September. These updates will offer a closer look at the impact of Kenya Thriving’s long-term commitment, showing how your support is helping those hopes and opportunities come to fruition.
A Younger Generation Still Growing
Most of the children we support are now teenagers, but several younger children are still at an earlier stage of their journey.
They still have much to learn, challenges to face, and hopes to build as they grow towards the opportunities ahead.

Our Campaign
A September to Remember is the title of our new campaign. It reflects both the cycling challenge which Ken Hart will complete in three stages during September and our desire to look back with gratitude at the stories of the children and young people whose lives are being changed through Kenya Thriving’s support.
Ken’s challenge is to cycle alongside the length of the Liverpool – Leeds canal which is a total of 127 miles via East Lancashire and the Pennines. The ride will include some challenging climbs (and descents) as Ken will cross the Pennines at an elevation of 488 feet. His target is £5,000.
We will keep you updated with his cycling progress via our website and FB page and his fundraising progress via our Just Giving page (see the links below). We will also send a hard copy of the children’s stories to those who prefer to receive information by mail.
We will be regularly updating the blog with news of Ken’s progress.
